In early March, the main mobile exhibition of the year was held in Barcelona – Mobile World Congress (Mwc). By tradition, technology on it introduced a lot. However, truly interesting and unusual, slightly less. We have chosen eight devices that made the most noise, and now we will tell you about them.
Samsung Galaxy S6
Form factor: touch monoblock * Operating system: Android 5.0 * Display: 5.1 inch (1440×2560) * CPU: Samsung Exynos 7420 (2.1 GHz) * Graphics: Mali-T760 * RAM: 3 GB * Built -in memory: 32/64/128 GB * Memory cards: No * SIM card: Nano-Sim * Cameras: 5 MP (frontal), 16 MP (main, autofocus, flash) * Connection: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz, LTE * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, IR transmitter * Navigation: A-GPS, GLONASS * Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5 mm jack * Battery: lithium-polymer, 2550 mA ∙ h * Additionally: Pulsometer, print scanner, wireless charging support * Dimensions: 7,1×14.3×0.7 cm * Weight: 138
It happened! Another flagship Samsung – Galaxy S6 – received an unlimited case made of metal and glass. The device looks excellent, but there are also disadvantages: the protection against moisture has disappeared, and Gorilla Glass 4 On the back panel, it diligently collects fingerprints.
The diagonal of the display compared to what was in the last generation has not changed-5.1 inches, but the resolution of the Super AMOLED matrix has grown. Now it is 1440×2560, which in terms of density is impressive 577 ppi. As in the case of the S5, the Home button is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, and the main photo module, noticeably protruding above the body, remained with its 16 MP, but is now equipped with optical stabilization. There is a heart rate monitor in the flash area – with its help you can take care of health and drop calls.
With iron is more and more interesting. Samsung unexpectedly abandoned Qualcomm chips and equip all Galaxy S6 with its own 64-bit Exynos 7420 , consisting of eight heterogeneous nuclei – four fast (2.1 GHz) and four slow (1.5 GHz). Strange, but with the transition to a new discharge of up to 4 GB, the manufacturer did not expand the RAM, remained at last year's 3 GB. True, this time we are already talking about high -speed lpddr4.
Mysteriously engineers acted with constant memory. Galaxy S6 was deprived of SD-cards support and will offer with fixed 32, 64 or 128 GB. The same thing ate such a strange act: flash drives are created according to the new UFS 2 technology.0 and work faster, which affects the responsiveness of the system.
Other characteristics remained the same. A built-in 2550 mAh battery supports Qi charges, and from unusual components there are a barometer and IR transmitter for managing household appliances. How much the novelty will be officially in Russia, they do not say, but, apparently, the price tag will be set in the region of 50,000 rubles.
The second flagship Samsung will cost about the same amount – Galaxy S6 Edge. He has one significant difference from the fellow – the screen curved at the edges. It looks interesting, but whether the chip is useful in practice, we can only say when we personally test the novelty.
HTC One M9
Form factor: touch monoblock * Operating system: Android 5.0 * Display: 5 inches (1080×1920) * CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (2 GHz) * Graphics: Adreno 430 * RAM: 3 GB * Built -in memory: 32 GB * Memory cards: Micro-SD (up to 128 GB) * SIM card: Nano-Sim * Cameras: 4 MP (frontal), 20 MP (main, autofocus, flash) * Connection: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz, LTE * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, IR transmitter * Navigation: A-GPS, GLONASS * Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5 mm jack * Battery: Lithium-polymer, 2840 mA ∙ h * Dimensions: 14.5x7x1 cm * Weight: 157 g
Another declassified flagship on MWC has become HTC One M9. It turned out, however, too similar to the previous m8. A whole-metal case with a curved rear panel, a 5-inch FullHD screen, and frontal stereodynamics with technology have been preserved Boomsound , and contrasting strokes over grinding. Even the frankly superfluous inscription "HTC", because of which there is no space for sensory buttons, and that did not go anywhere.
The differences that immediately catch your eye are a “losing” frame on the sides of the display, moving to the right line of the control buttons and a redesigned camera. Now one photo module is huddled behind instead of two, but it has a 20 megapixel matrix in it. In other words, the manufacturer returned to the digit race. The solution for 4 MP, known for past models, is from now on the front, to the joy of lovers to click themselves.
Following the camera significantly improved and iron. One M9 is running the Snapdragon 810 chip, which includes four cortex A57 (2 GHz) and Cortex A53 (1.5 GHz), as well as ADreno 430 graphics. RAM – 3 GB. Constant memory-32 GB, there is support for Micro-SD. The fifth Android, complemented by the Sense shell, leads all this.
HTC Vive
Displays: 2x 1200×1080 (90 Hz) * Sensors: gyroscope, accelerometer * Connectors: HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, 3.5 mm jack * Number of controllers: 2 pcs. * Additionally: Two base stations
Much more intriguing device from HTC The MWC suddenly turned out to be a helmet of virtual reality, created a couple with Valve. It was not enough about the technical part – it is known that two displays with a resolution of 1200×1080 and the frequency of scan of 90 Hz are hidden inside, and their own audio system may appear in the release sample (while they offer to use headphones).
However, the performance characteristics of Vive – The tenth business, its game capabilities are more impressive. Together with the helmet, two cameras are delivered, tracking and transmitting your movements around the room. You can crawl, walk, climb – all this is reflected in the behavior of the character.
Vive also laid two controllers (one in each hand) to perform additional actions in the virtual world. The devices have a minimum buttons, but there are sensory panels like those used in Steam Controller.
The position of manipulators is also monitored, and the position of the hands is displayed in the intra -game environment. According to the authors of the system, everything works with an accuracy of a millimeter and a tenth fraction of a degree. And according to eyewitnesses admitted to engineering patterns, it is also simply fantastically felt: you take joysticks, put on your head a helmet and immediately see your hands in a virtual space.
About when they release Vive and with what games he will work, HTC and Valve promise to tell by the end of the year. Then, perhaps, engineers will solve the problem with the wire, on which the helmet communicates with the computer – otherwise you can catch on and get a real injury during the battle.
Lenovo Vibe Shot
Form factor: touch monoblock * Operating system: Android 5.0 * Display: 5 inches (1080×1920) * CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (1.7 GHz) * Graphics: Adreno 405 * RAM: 3 GB * Built -in memory: 32 GB * Memory cards: Micro-SD (up to 128 GB) * SIM cards: 2x nano-SIM * Cameras: 8 MP (frontal), 16 MP (main, laser autofocus, triple flash) * Connection: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz, LTE * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 * Navigation: A-GPS, GLONASS * Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5 mm jack * Battery: Lithium-polymer, 2900 mA ∙ h * Dimensions: 14.2x7x0.7 cm * Weight: 145 g
Another unusual smartphone on MWC was noted Lenovo. Vibe Shot ranked to the middle class and focused on photographic capabilities. In other words, before us is a camerance, moreover, a compact. The newcomer got a 5-inch FullHD screen and a housing thick 7.3 mm. The design is original: under the glass that protects the back wall, there is a vertical strip “under the metal” – on it is the camera.
The photo module is noble: here is the BSI-matrix at 16 MP, and optical stabilization, and laser autofocus. The flash is triple, which is a curiosity. The front camera is also not weak – at 8 megapixels. Vibe Shot has a hardware shutter button, as well as a slider for switching the shooting mode (Smart/Pro). Another bonus for photographers is a slot for a strap on the lower left corner.
Fresh filling – Snapdragon 615 and for some reason 3 GB of RAM at once. The capacity of the local storage is 32 GB, there is support for Micro-SD cards with a volume of up to 128 GB. The battery is non -removable, for 2900 mAh. Note that Vibe Shot has two slots for Nano-Sim at once, and at least one of them is familiar with LTE. The smartphone is running Android 5.0 , supplemented by alternative GUI and a special photo application, which will offer many subtle settings for the camera if you transfer the slider to the side to Pro position.
Lenovo Pocket Projector
Diagonal: Up to 110 inches * Permission: 854×480 * Light flow: 50 Lumens * Contrast: 1000: 1 * Memory cards: Micro-SD (up to 32 GB) * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11n * Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5 mm jack * Additionally: Stereodynamics (2x 0.5 W) *** Dimensions: ** 10.4x10x2.5 cm* Weight: 170 g
As a pleasant addition to the phone, Lenovo presented Pocket Projector , A miniature projector that is easily placed in a pocket. The device has an unusual case: the segment on which the optics is located rises above the table, allowing you to aim at the desired point of the wall or screen. There is also its own acoustic system, but weak: two speakers of 0.5 watts each. However, ordinary speakers are also connected to the projector-after 3.5 mm jack. Everything is controlled with the help of a cross and buttons "back".
Of course, it is not worth waiting for an impressive image from the novelty, Pocket Projector gives a picture with a resolution of 854×480 and a diagonal up to 110 inches, while the light flow reaches 50 lumens, and the contrast is 1000: 1. The declared service life of the LED element is 20,000 hours. The projector is equipped with a Micro-SD card slot-useful for storing media files. The video is also transmitted directly from a smartphone or tablet via a USB connection or Wi-Fi (the novelty is friends with DLNA and MIRACAST). The battery is enough for two and a half hours of work – enough for the film.
LG Watch Urbane LTE
Display: 1.3 inches (320×320) * CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (1.2 GHz) * RAM: 1 GB * Built -in memory: 4 GB * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, nfc * Navigation: A-GPS * Battery: lithium-polymer, 700 mA ∙ h * Operating system: LG Wearable * Additionally: LTE-module, microphone, speaker, pulsometer, moisture protection * Weight: 115 g
There were enough wearable electronics on the MWC, but I only want to highlight Watch Urbane LTE – New smart watches from LG. They differ in large size, large weight (115 grams!) and, so to speak, premium design. The case is made of polished stainless steel, a round 1.3-inch screen maintains a resolution of 320×320 and slightly drowned to protect against damage, and around it there is a black rim with a dial applied. All this is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP67 standard and withstands short -term diving.
For work Watch Urbane LTE The quad -core answers Snapdragon 400 (1.2 GHz) and 1 GB of RAM, the volume of the local storage is 4 GB. As the name is clear, the clock received LTE module, and it is used not only for data transfer, but also for calls-there is a microphone, speaker and Bluetooth for the headset. The novelty also supports Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC, in other words, Watch Urbane LTE can act as a completely autonomous device and work in conjunction with a smartphone. I am pleased with the abundance of sensors: there was a place for accelerometer, gyroscope, digital compass, barometer and palpitations sensor. All this is good from the battery at 700 mAh and charges using the contact site on the back of the clock.
What is noteworthy, Watch Urbane LTE uses a new software platform LG Wearable , Built at the base Webos. This outlandish beast is supplemented by fitness, navigation, non -contact payments and listening to music. According to rumors, the clock will be sold only with the contract of the mobile operator – the ability to stick your SIM card is not provided.
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
Display: 10.1 inch (2560×1600) * Operating system: Android 5.0 * CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (2 GHz) * Graphics: Adreno 430 * RAM: 3 GB * Built -in memory: 32 GB * Memory cards: Micro-SD (up to 128 GB) * Cameras: 5 MP (frontal), 8 MP (main, autofocus) * Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5 mm jack * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, nfc * Navigation: A-GPS, GLONASS * Battery: Lithium-polymer, 6000 mA ∙ h * Additionally: moisture protection, LTE module (optionally) * Dimensions: 16.7×25.4×0.6 cm * Weight: 389 g (Wi-Fi version), 393 g (LTE version)
Surprisingly, with tablets on MWC, sorry for the expression, rotten, so the most became Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. The engineers went out of the way: more powerful, thinner, lighter. On the last points, it was even possible to teach the Apple iPad Air 2 – the same 6.1 mm in thickness with more modest 393 grams of weight (against 444 grams of Yabloko).
10.1-inch "tablet" received protection against moisture, and difficult. If earlier the Micro-USB connector was covered by an irritating plug, now it, like a 3.5 mm jack, is open to all misfortunes. But with one reservation: within half an hour after bathing Z4 Tablet it is better not to connect to the outlet.
As for the technical data, everything is on the highest category. The display with an thinning frame acquired a resolution of 2560×1600, and the front and back cameras received matrices for 5 and 8 megapixels. Serves the whole thing new Snapdragon 810 , supplemented 3 GB of RAM. The volume of the drive is 32 GB, but in addition, Micro-SD cards are supported. A 6000 mAh battery supports the function Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 – 70% of the charge are gaining in an hour.
Another interestingness of Xperia Z4 Tablet is an optional keyboard, when connecting which the tablet gets not only a set of keys and a remarkable laptop type, but also a touchpad, a battery, as well as an interface that is remotely resembling Chrome OS.
HP Spectre X360
Display: 13.3 inches (1920×1080) * CPU: Intel Core i5-5200U (2.2 GHz) * RAM: 4 GB DDR3 * Graphics: Intel HD 5500 * Drummer: 128 GB (SSD) * Connectors: 3x USB 3.0, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, 3.5 mm Jack * Wireless communication: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 * Battery: lithium-ion (three cells) * Autonomous work time: up to 12 h * Additionally: keyboard backlight, cardrider * Operating system: Windows 8.1 * Dimensions: 32.5×21.8×1.6 cm * Weight: Giant Wins Casino 1.45 kg
Remember the line of transformed laptops Lenovo Yoga? HP now also has one – Spectre X360. The new 13.3-inch ultrabook uses a case of aluminum and loops that allow you to throw the screen 360 degrees and turn the device into a “tent”, “stand” or a semblance of a tablet. The screen, of course, the sensory, the resolution is 1920×1080 or 2560×1440, depending on the modification. Mass – 1.45 kg, which is much for the ultrabook.
The island type keyboard is equipped with backlight, the touchpad is unusually large. On the ends there was a place for the Windows button and the swing of the volume adjustment – they are needed for ease of work in the tablet mode. Laptop’s port set is decent – three USB 3.0, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort.
In Spectre X360, iron is more powerful and more gluten than in the recent Yoga 3 Pro, hence the difference in weight. The base model for $ 900 is equipped with a fresh bilingual Intel Core i5-5200u (2.2 GHz) Broadwell architecture, 4 GB of DDR3 memory and 128 GB solid -state drive. For an additional fee, you can double the volume of the RAM, stick SSD with 256 or 512 GB, and also replace the processor by Core i7-5500U (2.4 GHz). One battery charge is enough for twelve hours of economical use.
